To go to Novosibirsk we were lucky and we had a compartment with two beds to ourselves. Are half as large, but clearly more comfortable. They are at the end of the car and you can play with the numbering of the ticket. The journey to Novosibirsk Omsk in train 68 only lasts eight hours (1,741 rubles / 43 euros).

Novosibirsk is the capital of Siberia and largest city with nearly two million people. It is a typical Soviet city with vast avenues and buildings, which grew thanks to rapid industrialization during the communist regime of the USSR. Wide
Krasny avenue, which crosses from north to south the city, is the clearest example of Soviet urban planning and concentrates all the administrative buildings.
In the center of the Krasny avenue Lenin Square is the heart of Novosibirsk, which is dominated by the Teatro Opera and a magnificent statue of Lenin surrounded by partisans. In the Plaza comes Lenin Street, with bars, restaurants and terraces for a drink.
Other attractions include the Cathedral of the Ascension , with a colorful interior, and the tiny chapel of St. Nicholas , which marks the center of Russia.
In Novosibirsk we became even colder than in Omsk and not spend 18 degrees all day. A jacket or sweater is needed. In the afternoon we returned to the station to pick up bags of luggage and continue the path toward Krasnoyarsk Trans.
