Alice In Wonderland Wedding Ideas
The capital of Upper Austria is the third largest city with nearly a quarter million people. It was founded by the Romans with the name of Lentia and is now a major industrial center crossed by the Danube . Although it has no major tourist attractions, it is worth close to shop around the streets.
Of course, the lack of tourists also note limited supply of affordable accommodation. We arrived at night, under a heavy snowfall, and only found a couple of hostels that were full. The Lonely Planet was not very helpful and Finally, tired and frozen, we stayed at the Hotel City, where they let us double for 100 euros after haggling the price. At least I had breakfast and parking included.
The next day dawned sunny Linz and completely snow, a beautiful picture that invited us to walk its streets. Landstrasse is the main commercial thoroughfare of the old town and ends at the square Hauptplatz, the very heart of Linz with Trinity Column in the center. The square is bordered by the Danube , whose banks offer good views of the city.
Across the River you can take the tram Postlingbergbahn (5.40 euros), which amounts more than 500 meters from the hill Postlingberg to offer the best views of Linz. The tortuous climb tree houses and snow is fantastic. At the top of the hill is a park and church.
Back to the center of Linz enter the Ars Electronica Center , a museum of new technologies, which impressed the author of the Lonely Planet , but let us rather cold. No changes from typical science museum with more interest to boys than adults. Not worth paying 8 euros for the input.
At noon the sun had melted the snow from the streets and went for the car to continue his journey to Vienna .
